The 2011 TCR team raised over $17,000, something which we at The Feline Fund are proud to have been a part of.

This year the goal of the TCR team is $25,000.

Why Help TCR?

Toronto Cat Rescue (TCR) is the Greater Toronto area's largest all-volunteer cat rescue organization, with approximately 200 active volunteers and an average of 400-600 cats in foster homes and pet store adoption centres at any given time. We are proud to say that in 2010 we successfully adopted out 1,685 cats into their forever homes. We also have been awarded the 2010 Reader's Choice Best Rescue Award from Toronto Pet Daily and were featured in the 2009 documentary Cat City by Justine Pimlott. None of our members, including the Executive Board, are paid for the many hours they devote to animal welfare. All of our programs rely on money raised through fundraising and adoptions as well as generous donations by animal lovers, as we are not given any government funding. In addition to rescuing cats from situations of impending euthanasia, abandonment and the harsh reality of living as strays, TCR tackles the feline overpopulation problem in Southern Ontario through a Trap-Neuter-Return program for feral cat colonies, where un-adoptable feral cats are sterilized and returned, thus preventing future unwanted kittens from being born while also greatly improving the quality of life for the colony members. TCR also works tirelessly to educate and empower the public to tackle feline overpopulation in their communities.
